SPD and ATF Join Forces, Suspect Gets 17 Years
As the result of combining manpower, intelligence and old fashion shoe leather, Agents from the Shreveport Police Department Mid Level Narcotics and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, have investigated, arrested and prosecuted a 60 year old narcotics dealer to serve seventeen years behind bars.
Andrew D. Kelly, AKA "AD" was arrested in December2002 after an informant told authorities he was selling narcotics. Kelly agreed to cooperate with police in exchange for information leading to the arrest of other drug traffickers, but failed to deliver. He was arrested again in June 2004 for possession of drugs, a handgun and the initial 2002 charge. Kelly bonded out of jail and within approximately one week he was again arrested for possession with intent to distribute.
Andrew was sentenced under federal guidelines which parole has been abolished.
