Car Carrier Driver Arrested

At approximately 8:00 am today while on patrol in the 4700 block of Greenwood Road, patrol officers spotted a commercial car carrier parked at that location, an area normally not used for parking. Officers spoke with the driver, Marc James , B/M, Mid 40's of Datona Beach, Florida who confessed to "renting" some of the vehicles he was responsible for transporting out for possible narcotics.

Officers took James into custody and transported him to the Shreveport Police Department Auto Theft Unit. Detective Ortiz interviewed James who confessed to being in possession of seven vehicles, six of which he rented. Auto Theft detectives and patrol units canvassed the area most of the day, recovering five out of six vehicles with one vehicle still outstanding.

Police are looking for a 1999 Chevy S-10, Beige, with a sunroof. Any information leading to the recovery of this vehicle will be confidential and without retribution or prosecution. (673-7300 or Auto Theft 673-6989)

Marc James was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and booked into Caddo Jail.
