Five officers get promoted

Five Shreveport police officers were promoted in a special ceremony this morning.

They were:

• Daniel Dodson, who was promoted to captain. He has been with the department since August of 1980. Captain Dodson will be assigned as the Shift Commander for Shift A.

• Michael Shannon, who was promoted to lieutenant. He has been with the department since August of 1983. Lieutenant Shannon will be leading the Property Crimes Bureau.

• Anthony LeBlanc, who was promoted to lieutenant. He has been with the department since September of 1983. Lieutenant LeBlanc will be assigned to the Patrol Administrative staff.

• Charles Alexander, who was promoted to sergeant. He has been with the department since August of 1990. Sergeant Alexander will continue in his assignment at the Shreveport Regional Police Training Academy.

• James Taliaferro, who was promoted to sergeant. He has been with the department since August of 1990. Sergeant Taliaferro is currently temporarily assigned as the department’s Public Information Officer.

A special guest at the ceremony was Colonel Kevin Wolfe, commander of the 917^th Mission Support Squadron at Barksdale AFB, LA. Colonel Wolfe presented Chief Campbell with a Certificate of Appreciation, in recognition of his, and the department’s, outstanding support of the Air Force Reserves and the 917^th Wing.
