Detective Catches Burglar

At approximately 5:35 AM, on Sunday, as Shreveport Police Detective Rodney Johnson was investigating a shooting a Jackson and Jewella, a burglary in progress call was dispatched at 3100 block of Exposition. An elderly woman told police she was alone and two suspects were attempting to forcibly enter her house through the back door.

As the call was received, Shreveport Police patrol units were out of service with other high priority calls and were not able to immediately respond. Detective Johnson, left his investigation and immediately responded and upon his arrival saw a subject, Roland Cooper trying to gain entry through the back door. Moments later K-9 officer, Corporal Joshua Felicano responded and assisted taking Cooper into custody. An area search was conducted and no other suspect was located.

A follow up investigation revealed an eyewitness to Cooper kicking and pulling on the back door. The suspect was booked into CCC for attempted Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling.
