Police investigate several calls for service overnight
Police responded to several calls involving victims who were injured or robbed overnight. Here’s a rundown of some of those cases:
• At 12:50 a.m., 20-year-old Justin Simon of Shreveport was attacked by another male with a razor blade inside a home in the 200 block of Prospect Street. Simon received lacerations to his left shoulder and above his left eye. He was taken to LSU Hospital by ambulance.
The incident is believed to have occurred when the ex-boyfriend of the woman who lived in the residence kicked in her front door. The suspect fled the scene and could not be immediately located. The case is under investigation.
• At 1:20 a.m., 25-year-old Scotty Green of the 2200 block of Morningside was shot in the chest after two or more men entered the residence and shot him. Green was taken to LSU Hospital where he reportedly is in stable condition with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.
Descriptions of the suspects are sketchy, but they were all black males and were masked. About a quarter-pound of marijuana was located in the residence.
• At 2:24 a.m., 25-year-old Michael Leslie of Keithville was carjacked as he talked to an acquaintance at the intersection of Roberts and Joe Louis streets.
The suspect was described as a medium-complected black male, about 5'9" tall and 190 pounds. He was wearing all white clothes and had braided hair with red and white beads.
• Michael Montgomery, age unknown, of Shreveport was stabbed in the chest reportedly by his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend in the 1700 block of Murphy Street. His injuries were described as serious but non life-threatening. The girlfriend, LaToya Knuckles, left the scene but was later located and arrested.
