Police investigate fatal accident

Shreveport police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Sunday afternoon in the 5400 block of West 70^th Street at the Inner Loop.

Kendra Dixon, 25, of Shreveport died after the 2004 Chevy Blazer she was in flipped as it exited onto West 70^th Street. The driver of the Blazer, 41-year-old Anthony Marbury of Shreveport was taken to LSU Hospital. He is currently in serious condition in the surgical intensive care unit.

The accident occurred at 3:12 p.m. when the vehicle lost control and flipped. The vehicle reportedly was traveling at a high rate of speed, but the exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
