Police are investigating a case involving a 9-year-old girl who was pushed down and attacked after getting off a school bus on Monday.
The girl said that a white male in a car pulled up beside her in the 3500 block of Dewberry. He then got out of the car, knocked her down and attempted to take off her pants. She fought the man, who then got back in the car and drove off.
The man is described to be in his 30s. He was wearing a grey shirt and was possibly driving a dark blue Toyota four-door car.
Parents are urged to remind their children to run away from strangers. They should be aware of their surroundings, and when possible, should stay in groups. If they are concerned for any reason, they should seek the help of an adult immediately.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Paula Moreno at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
