Shreveport Police Department, along with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Shreveport Branch of the NAACP, Shreveport Job Corps Center and E&G Productions, will hold a press conference this afternoon.
The press conference will be held at 3 p.m. at the Shreveport Job Corps Center, 2800 W. College Street, to announce a special production that teaches young people how to interact with law enforcement.
"Law and Order: Keepin’ It Real" is a play that features young people involved in situations with police and shows them the best ways to respond to those situations.
Students from the Job Corps Center will be performing the play in its first public presentation scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Job Corps Center. It is open to the public, and many dignitaries and special guests have been invited.
Media representatives who attend today’s press conference will see a scene from the play, learn about how and why the play was written and talk to some of the actors about what they have learned from the experience.
