Police work two accidents at I-220 and Jefferson Paige

Four people were injured and one woman was arrested during two accidents that occurred at I-220 and Jefferson Paige last night.

Ashley Tridico, 34, of Shreveport and her 14-year-old passenger sustained major injuries and were transported to LSU Hospital. Meanwhile, 62-year-old Martha Taft and her 13-year-old passenger received moderate injuries and were transported to Willis-Knighton South.

According to witnesses, Tridico was driving her silver 2004 Honda eastbound on Interstate 220 when she lost control of the car, crossed the median and struck a maroon Egil car driven by Taft, which was headed in the opposite direction.

After impact, Tridico’s car hit a guardrail. She was ejected from the vehicle.

That accident occurred at 9:10 p.m. and snarled traffic for several hours. At 11:40 p.m., an alleged drunk driver plowed in to a police car that had its lights on to divert traffic.

Margaret Drew, 50, of Shreveport was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was taken to LSU Hospital with possible injuries.

The police officer, who was out of his car directing traffic at the time of the accident, was not injured.
