Man shot at Cherokee and Desoto

Shreveport police are looking for a suspect who shot an 18-year-old Shreveport man early this morning.

Jeranckie Lane (pronounced Juranski) was shot twice in the back as he walked near the intersection of Cherokee and DeSoto about 3:30 a.m.

A white car containing three occupants pulled up next to Lane and another person who was walking with him. A passenger in the car started firing shots, striking Lane.

Lane was taken to LSU Hospital where he is currently in serious condition.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call detectives at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
