Independence Bowl set for Tuesday

Shreveport Police Department is gearing up for another successful Independence Bowl.

Traffic will be rerouted for the game, and citizens living in the area are encouraged to get their business done before game time. Meanwhile, those attending the game are encouraged to use the shuttles, which cost $5 for riders over age 12.

Here are some items that game-goers and the public need to know:

TRAFFIC ENTERING THE GAME

GENERAL PARKING

• WB I-20 must exit either Lakeshore or Hearne Avenue to Kings Hwy

• EB I-20, exit Jewella Avenue (right lane) to Midway then to Hudson

RESERVED (HANG TAG) PARKING

• WB I-20, exit Jewella (North) to Fair Street or Greenwood Road(East)

• EB I-20, exit Jewella in the left lane (North) to Fair or Greenwood Road (East)

TRAFFIC EXITING THE GAME

• Outbound traffic will be directed by law enforcement personnel down major thoroughfares towards I-20. Game goers must follow the directions of all law enforcement officers while exiting the game.

RESIDENTIAL SUGGESTIONS:

• Citizens who reside North of Greenwood Road between Jewella and Hearne Avenue who must enter and exit their homes during the game, must do so from Lakeshore South on Hearne and Jewella Avenues. All other avenues to the Greenwood Road area will be heavily congested and traffic will be directed towards the game.

RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE ALTERNATE ROUTES DURING GAME TIMES BETWEEN 4:00 PM AND 10:00 PM

SHUTTLE SERVICE

• Shuttle will begin @ 2:00 pm on game day and ends at 10:00 pm.

• Private bus, limo & taxi will drop off at Greenwood Rd. @ State Exhibit Museum

• Shuttle riders will pay $ 5.00 for adults, under 13 ride free.

• Shuttle Pickup/Delivery Points are:

1. Mall St. Vincent by Dilliard’s

2. Pierre-Bossier by Service Merchandise

3. Drop-off at the game at Greenwood @ Querbes
