When Cpl. Michelle Sanderlin’s house was burglarized last week, thieves took all the Christmas presents she had purchased for her two daughters, as well as other members of her family.
Sanderlin was devastated.
As soon as officers began hearing about their fellow officer’s troubles, they all began chipping in to help her replace the Christmas she had lost.
In a matter of just a few days, patrol officers, agents in the narcotics division where she works and concerned citizens had donated more than $800.
The Shreveport Police Department has always had a reputation for helping out their co-workers who are in need.
Thanks to the generosity of many in the department, this Christmas was one Sanderlin will never forget.
