Arrest on heroin charges

Caddo-Shreveport narcotics agents arrested a man early this morning and seized Mexican heroin.

John L. Robinson, 60, of the 1800 block of Acorn Street was taken into custody about 7 a.m. after members of the Mid-Level Investigative Unit and the Street Level Interdiction Unit executed a search warrant at his home.

Acting on a tip from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office, agents began a two-month investigation. During the search warrant this morning, agents seized about $1,000 worth of Mexican brown heroin, $650 in suspected narcotics proceeds and evidence of drug distribution, such as scales and documents.

The seizure of heroin is extremely rare in Shreveport.
