Police arrest robber armed with pipe

Shreveport Police apprehended 41-year-old Leotis Thomas of Shreveport this morning after he robbed a man of his wallet downtown.

Thomas allegedly hit a man with a pipe and took his wallet, despite a struggle between the two. Thomas then ran down an alley and was chased by the victim, who held the suspect until police arrived.

Thomas was charged with armed robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.

The incident occurred at 8:55 a.m. at the 400 block of Common.
