Drive-by shooting on W. 65th

Shreveport detectives are looking for a man accused in a shooting that occurred Friday night (March 3).

Derrick Grant, 35, of Shreveport is wanted for illegal use of a weapon from a motor vehicle. Grant is believed to have fired shots, striking 30-year-old Michael Coleman as he sat outside of his house in the 400 block of West 65th Street. Coleman received a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the right side of his torso and was transported to LSU Hospital. It is believed that Grant and another man were walking down the street when they started shooting about 200 feet away. The suspects fled the scene.

Grant was last seen driving a white rental Cadillac. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call detectives at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
