Fatal crash on MLK

Shreveport police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred last night in the 1800 block of MLK last night.

The accident occurred at 10:45 p.m. when 46-year-old Emma Collins of Shreveport crossed the street and was struck by a vehicle driven by Jasmin P. Allen, 21, of Shreveport.

Allen's vehicle was headed eastbound on MLK when she struck Collins, who hit her windshield and then fell to the ground. Collins was taken to LSU Hospital but did not survive her injuries.

No charges have been filed against Allen at this time.
