Street fight

A Shreveport man is in custody for beating another man in the 4400 block of Westwood Park about 12:30 this afternoon.

The call originally went out to police as a shots fired call but turned out to be a battery. When officers arrived, they found Phillip White, 21, of Shreveport in the carport of a residence, bleeding from cuts around his left eye.

White was allegedly beaten by an acquaintance, 29-year-old Leondrea Crawford of Shreveport. The two were involved in a dispute over a pending criminal matter.

Although a witness reported hearing gunfire, no one was injured by a bullet.

White was driven to LSU Hospital for treatment, and Crawford was transported to the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of second-degree battery.
