Operation Santa Claus hosts special event this Saturday

Santa is feeling a little generous this year, so he wants to give all 600 kids who received toys from Operation Santa Claus in December something extra.

He calls it Christmas in June. Temporary headquarters for this one-time event will be at Wal-Mart on Westport Avenue (off Pines Road) between 10 a.m. and noon the morning of Saturday, June 3, 2006. (Look for the tent in the parking lot).

When children arrive, their name will be checked off Santa's list. They will then be given a voucher to redeem at Wal-Mart. They will have to spend the entire amount before they leave.

Operation Santa Claus is a charity conducted by the Shreveport Police Department, Shreveport Fire Department, Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office and Clear Channel Radio.
