Police make arrest in overnight shooting

On Wednesday afternoon shortly after five o’clock in the afternoon Shreveport police officers responded to 2721 Vivian Street for a shot fired call. Upon arrival, they found Donna Gibson-Henry, suffering from a gash above her right eye and her husband, Rickey Henry, shot in the back. The officers learned from Donna that her son, Myron Gibson, had shot Rickey after she (Donna) had been beaten by Rickey. Myron was located a short distance from the house and was taken into custody.

Police learned Rickey became enraged and began beating Donna. During the fight,

she was hit in the head with a dining room chair, cutting her right eye. Myron, who

was in the back of the house, heard the fight and investigated the matter, armed

with a handgun.

Rickey was shot one time during the confrontation with Myron.

Police obtained a search warrant, found the gun believed to have been used by Myron. Myron was charged with Aggravated Battery and booked into the jail. Rickey was transported to LSU-HCS where he under went surgery. He is expected to recover.
