Police arrest individual for Aggravated Battery
The Shreveport Police have arrested Willis Gipson for Aggravated Battery in connection with an incident on April 28th on this year.
On April 28th Rita Russell returned home to find Gipson and an unidentified Black Male inside her residence. Gipson was standing behind the door armed with a shotgun. Russell fled to a neighbor’s house where she called the police. When the police arrived Russell’s house had been ransacked.
Russell told police she recognized Gipson as a "friend" she had a domestic dispute with the previous night. Russell stated Gipson did not have a key to her residence and had entered through an unlocked window in the rear of the residence.
Shreveport Police located a shotgun in a trashcan a few houses from Gipson's residence on Ironwood. The shotgun was also believed to have been used by Gipson in an Aggravated Assault from two days earlier. Gipson was located by Shreveport Police when a vehicle he was driving in was stopped. The vehicle was involved in a previous shooting in west Shreveport.
Gipson has been cleared of any involvement in that shooting, but was charged with the Aggravated Burglary. He was also charged with Aggravated Assault and Simple Battery, which he had outstanding warrants for.
