Shooting at Country Club Apartments
Shortly after 1:00 this afternoon Shreveport Police were called to a shooting at the Country Club Apartments at 4301 Lakeshore Drive.
When units arrived on the scene they found the victim, Jeffery Thomas, 21 of the 4300 block of North Lakeshore, outside of apartment #303 with gunshot wounds to both legs.
Police units circulated the area looking for a suspect. That’s when they were advised the suspect may be still inside of apartment #303. A perimeter was set up and K-9 unit arrived on scene. Permission was given by leaser of apartment #303 to enter and look for the suspect. When the police entered the apartment the only people found inside of apartment were the small son and nephew of leaser.
K-9 units searched apartment, but the suspect had fled out window. The victim was transported to LSU-HSC with non-life threatening wounds to both legs. Shell casings, as well as a .22 caliber revolver were found inside the apartment.
The suspect in the shooting, Gary Howard, is approximately 26 years old and from Shreveport. Howard is described as a black male 5’7” tall weighing 170 pounds. He has long dreadlocks, was dressed in all red, armed with a .45 caliber handgun. He was last seen fleeing the Country Club Apartments on foot.
