Police arrest sex offender

Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a 33-year-old convicted sex offender on a charge of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Christopher Jabbar Johnson of Shreveport was charged with carnal knowledge last night after the girl was found at the suspect's home in the 600 block of E. 85th Street. The girl also admitted to spending the night with Johnson without her mother's consent. Because of this, Johnson was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

In reviewing Johnson's criminal history, it was learned that the he has several prior sex-related arrests, including charges of aggravated rape and sexual battery. He has a prior conviction for indecent behavior with a juvenile, but he had not properly registered. So, another charge of failure to register was added.

Johnson was booked into the City Jail but will be transferred to Caddo Correctional Center on the felony charges.
