Man charged with Negligent Homicide

The driver of a Monte Carlo involved in a fatal motorcycle accident last week has been charged with negligent homicide.

Lonathan Rascoe (correct spelling), 22, of Shreveport was arrested this afternoon and booked into the Shreveport City Jail for the accident, which caused the death of 63-year-old Jerry Sanders of Keithville. Sanders was riding his 2002 Honda Rebel motorcycle southbound in the 2800 block of North Hearne when Roscoe struck the motorcycle from behind at a speed estimated at more than 80 miles per hour.

The accident occurred about 2 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, on North Hearne Avenue, just north of Hilry Huckaby.

After Sanders and his motorcycle were hit, Sanders went down and was subsequently struck by two other vehicles.
