FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Warrants issued for sex offenders who failed to register
In April, the Shreveport Police Department urged convicted sex offenders to register with the city as part of the Sex Offender Amnesty Program (SOAP), which gave them a specified time period in which to "come clean" and get registered.
So far, the department has identified and obtained arrest warrants for five people who have failed to do so.
They are:
* Charles Blue, 29, of Shreveport.
* Johnny Talley, 58, of Shreveport.
* Brian Holman, 28, of Shreveport.
* Henry George, 52, of Shreveport.
* Zaniel Adkins, 28, of Shreveport.
All are wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, which is punishable by a maximum $1,000 and/or one year in jail. A subsequent conviction for the same offense is punishable by three years in prison without the benefit of release.
