Two people arrested for drugs

The Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit has ended a two-week investigation that resulted in the arrests of two people and the seizure of thousands of dollars worth of illegal narcotics.

John E. Williams Jr., 46, of Shreveport and Sherry Broussard, 41, of Shreveport were arrested after agents searched Williams’ residence in the 4400 block of Danny Wimberly Drive.

Agents with the Mid-Level Investigative Unit, along with members of the Street Level Interdiction Unit, executed the search warrant and found 190 grams of crack and powder cocaine, 610 grams of marijuana, 7 dosage units of ecstasy and assorted controlled dangerous substances of Valium, Loritabs and Xanex. The drugs have a street value of more than $20,000.

Agents also seized two weapons, two sets of digital scales and $3,100 in suspected illegal narcotic proceeds. They also seized a bank account that is believed to have $18,000 worth of illegal narcotics proceeds.

Williams was charged with possession of over 28 grams of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Williams also was charged with having a gun during a drug crime.
