Woman arrested for felony theft
A Shreveport Police detective with the Caddo-Shreveport White Collar Crimes Task Force has arrested a woman on a charge of felony theft for allegedly stealing $100,000 from a local car dealership.
Mary Beth Robinson, 55, of Bossier City is currently in the Shreveport City Jail after she allegedly used improper accounting procedures to essentially embezzle money from Elkins Nissan.
It is alleged that Robinson systematically doctored deposits and account entries to steal money from the dealership. Besides taking cash out of bank deposits, she would also take money that was paid to the dealership for canceled extended warranty policies.
The crimes are believed to have occurred while she was in charge of accounts and bookkeeping at Elkins from 2002 to 2004.
