Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Drug operation nets arrests

On Wednesday, July 12, Street Level Interdiction Unit agents of the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit and members of the Shreveport Police Vice Unit performed a “buyer takeoff” operation involving the city and South Caddo Parish.

Undercover agents, along with arrest teams, traveled through out the city and parish targeting known areas for open air narcotic sales. In all, six people were arrested – five on felony charges and one on a misdemeanor charge.

Four of the five felony charges were for distribution of Schedule II cocaine, and the fifth felony charge was for distribution of a false Schedule II ("bunk” narcotics) to undercover officers. A sixth person was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and a CSO warrant for no driver license.

Agents seized approximately 1 gram of rock cocaine and .11 grams of marijuana during the operation. All suspects are from Shreveport, except Pipkins who is from Keithville. Those arrested and the locations of their arrests were:

• L.C. Loft, d.o.b 12-21-47, distribution of Schedule II, 1000 Sprague Street

• David Alexander, d.o.b. 3-14-67 distribution of Schedule II, 1000 Sprague Street

• Margaret Sutton, d.o.b. 8-27-63, distribution of Schedule II, Easy St. @ Jordan St.

• James Plater, d.o.b 6-2-67, distribution of Schedule II, Thornhill @ E. 74th St.

• Tyrone Chambers, d.o.b. 7-11-70, distribution of a false CDS, Hollywood @ Dowdell

• Marcus Pipkins, d.o.b. 1-31-70, possession of Schedule I, possession of marijuana and a CSO warrant for no DL
