3 car collision on 3132

A crash on Hwy. 3132 at West 70th Street overpass has left a man in serious condition today at LSU Hospital after a three-car collision that occurred about 6:30 a.m.

George Avery, 30, of Shreveport was airlifted to LSU Hospital after his 2005 Chevy Impala ran into the back of a vehicle driven by Walter Roberts, 64, of Shreveport. After impact, Avery lost control of his car, which left the roadway, slid across the median, flipped and struck the side of an 18-wheeler headed in the opposite direction. Neither Roberts nor the driver of the truck, 20-year-old Daniel Salter Jr. of Bossier City, was injured.

Avery reported was traveling at a high rate of speed and was cited for DWI. He is expected to survive his injuries.
