Construction worker hit by car
Shreveport Police are investigating an accident which sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries this morning.
George Porter, DOB 9-6-52, was directing traffic at Birdwell and Colquitt Road shortly after 10:00 o'clock this morning, when he stepped into traffic to stop it, according to witnesses.
Mr. Porter was carrying a sign with slow on one side and stop on the other. As he stepped out, he was hit by a car driven by 71 year old Nancy L. Moore.
Mrs. Moore was traveling eastbound on Colquitt when she struck Porter.
Mr. Porter was transported in LSUHSC with serious injuries, but is expected to live.
Mrs. Moore has not been ticketed at this time. Investigators are still investigating the cause of the accident.
Mr. Porter is an employee of a road construction crew Best Yet Builders.
