Two robbers arrested in separate cases

Shreveport police have arrested two men in separate robberies that have occurred since the weekend.

Donovan Samuel, 19, of Shreveport was booked into the Shreveport City Jail around 9:45 p.m. last night on a charge of armed robbery. Samuel is alleged to have robbed a car hop at the Sonic restaurant in the 300 block of 70^th Street, which occurred about 7 p.m. last night.

The robber emerged from behind a parked van, pulled a handgun from his waist bank and robbed the employee. He then fled. Information gained at the scene led officers to the suspect’s home in the 200 block of 74^th Street. The case is currently under investigation. (NO MUG SHOT CAN YET BE RELEASED).

Meanwhile, detectives are wrapping up their investigation into a robbery of the Circle K store in the 6900 block of Jewella that occurred Saturday.

Marcus Clark, 26, of Shreveport was arrested after robbing the convenience store with a handgun. A witness reported seeing Clark get on a bicycle and ride west on 70^th Street. Officers circulating the area located him and place him under arrest after a brief foot pursuit. The weapon and cash were recovered in a backpack the suspect was carrying.
