Shreveport Police have secured an arrest warrant for the second suspect in the southeast Shreveport rape case.
Juan Rodriguez Garcia, 26, address unknown, is currently in custody in New Braunfels, Texas, with his cousin, Alfredo Rodriguez Gonzalez. Both were arrested on Friday -- Garcia for possession of marijuana and Gonzalez for the aggravated rape charge that occurred in Shreveport.
Since Garcia was taken into custody, Shreveport detectives were able to get a photo of him to determine whether he was the second suspect in the local rape case. After confirmation that he was, an arrest warrant was issued for Garcia this afternoon.
Like Gonzalez, Garcia is also in the country illegally. Both are expected to be extradicted back to Shreveport -- hopefully this week.
