One still sought in shooting

Shreveport Police have arrested one person and are searching for another in a shooting that occurred last Thursday evening in the 500 block of West 70th Street.

Corazone Ware, 19, of Shreveport and Howard C. Latin Jr., 20, of Grand Cane have been connected to the shooting of 21-year-old Rufus Owens of Shreveport. Owens reportedly was confronted by the suspects and got into a fight with them when Latin allegedly pulled a gun and started shooting. Owens was shot twice and taken to LSU Hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

Ware was arrested the day after the shooting and charged with second degree aggravated battery and accessory after the fact. Meanwhile, an arrest warrant has been issued for Latin for attempted second-degree murder.
