Armed Robbery Task Force results
Three separate robbery cases have essentially been solved, with the arrests of several and warrants issued for a few others who are now being sought by police. Here are the details on the cases:
WARRANT ISSUED IN SOUTHEAST SHREVEPORT ROBBERY CASE
Detective Chris Yarborough has obtained an arrest warrant for a man who allegedly robbed a woman of her Ford Mustang at the Town Oaks South apartment complex last week.
Tyrone Blackburn, 19, of Shreveport was spotted in the Mustang that he took by force from a woman who lived at the complex. Blackburn reportedly knocked on the victim's door and asked her to move her car to make way for a moving van. When she got outside, he and another suspect reportedly attacked her, grabbed her keys and fled in the Mustang.
Information obtained by detectives indicated that Blackburn has been seen driving the Mustang. However, the car and Blackburn have not been located.
Anyone with information about Blackburn's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Chris Yarborough at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
MAN ARRESTED IN TRIPLE J STORE ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
Shreveport Detective Craig Ivy has charged a man with armed robbery after he was determined to be the gunman in a holdup at the Triple J store on Sept. 12.
Juan McCray, 26, of Shreveport was charged with armed robbery this afternoon after detectives learned that he was the one caught on tape with the gun. In the robbery attempt, the clerk tried to grab the gun away and the two suspects fled. He was already behind bars for a Sept. 20 arrest in which he robbed a man at an ATM.
Anyone with information about the second suspect is asked to call Detective Craig Ivy at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
HOME INVASION SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED
Three people have been identified as the men who entered a house in the 3400 block of Sunset Drive on Jan. 25, 2006, and tied up the home owner.
Timothy Butler, 26, of Shreveport; Timothy Burnham, 37, of Shreveport; and Alphonse Edmond, 28, of Shreveport are all charged with armed robbery with a firearm. Both Butler and Burnham are behind bars. Edmond is still being sought.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Edmond is asked to call Det. Russell Ross at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
OTHER ROBBERY ARRESTS THIS WEEK
Other warrants for robbery have been served this week with the arrests of three people. They include:
* a 15-year-old male charged with simple robbery for beating up and taking the bicycle of another youth in the 700 block of West 73rd Street on Oct. 2.
