Police seek suspect

The Shreveport police need the public's help in finding an individual who fled from police after he was stopped while driving a stolen vehicle.

The incident happened this morning shortly before eight, in the 700 block Long Bayou. When patrol officers ordered the black male driving the green Toyota 4-Runner to stop, he took off on foot. During the foot chase a patrol officer and the subject fell into a bayou behind Long Bayou subdivision.

The chase continued after both the officer and the suspect managed to get out of the bayou, until the patrol officer lost sight of him. K-9 units were called to the scene to search for the suspect, but were not able to find him.

The suspect driving the stolen 4-Runner is described as a Black Male with a slender build wearing all black.

The Toyota 4-Runner was car-jacked at gun point from a Citgo gas station at the corner of Linwood and Earl Sunday night around 6:30 p.m. Two black males ordered the driver to get out of the vehicle and then drove off with an undisclosed amount of cash and his 4-Runner.

Police are asking if you know something about either the car-jacking from Sunday night or the driver of the vehicle was please contact Crimestoppers at 673-7373 or log on to their website at www.crimestoppersshreveportcaddo.com.
