Turkey Tuesday

Turkeys are in high demand and short supply right now. The Northwest Louisiana Food Bank has reportedly had to turn away at least 3 agencies seeking help for Thanksgiving.

That's where Shreveport Police Department steps in to help with its second annual Turkey Tuesday event!

At 1 p.m. tomorrow (Nov. 21), Cpl. Tracy Mendels will be in the patrol parking lot collecting turkeys and money to buy turkeys for the food bank. The Food Bank helps many agencies distribute food to hungry residents.

As you ponder what you'll be having for lunch today, think a moment about the people who will wonder whether they will even get to eat today.  Then, consider donating as much as you can afford, so these folks will have a nice Thanksgiving!
