Man arrested on Molestation charges

Shreveport Police Sex Crimes detectives have arrested a 34 year old Shreveport man on two counts of molestation of a juvenile.

Steven Johnson was taken into custody today this afternoon on a Simple Battery warrant stemming from an incident in 1999.  Johnson was booked into city jail on one count of forcible rape of a juvenile and one count of molestation of a juvenile.  The victims were ages 14 and 11. However, it is believed that he may have molested other children as well.  Reports were filed, but the cases never materialized.

It is hoped that anyone who has been victimized will call the Sex Crimes Unit at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.

We will release his photograph as soon as the detectives have finished showig line-ups.  When his mug shot is released there will be avaiable to the media a video of his arrest, but again we can not release it until we are finished showing line-ups.
