FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Operation Santa Kick-off

Santa will be riding to the Clear Channel Radio station in a big red fire truck today as part of the annual operation named just for him.

Santa Claus will arrive at the Operation Santa Claus headquarters at 2 p.m. where he will meet young boys and girls who have been "nice" this year. They will get to tell him what they want for Christmas, get goodie bags to prep them for the big day and have cookies and punch.

Operation Santa Claus has been in operation for 22 years. It is run by the Shreveport Police Department, Shreveport Fire Department and Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office. The program involves officers, firefighters and deputies seeing children in need in the areas in which they patrol and signing them up to receive toys through Operation Santa Claus.

With the help of Clear Channel Radio, citizens are sought to sponsor individual children and get them the toys they want for Christmas. Monetary donations and unwrapped new toys also are accepted to help fill the children's wish lists.

See you today at 2 p.m. at OSC headquarters, located at 6341 Westport Avenue!
