Streetscape crackdown

Shreveport Police Department is cracking down on a problem that is literally breaking brick pavers downtown.

The problem is that people are parking on the brick-layered walkways known as "Streetscape," which is causing cracks in the brick pavers that have to be repaired.

Beginning immediately, officers will be writing citations to anyone parked illegally on the pavers.

In addition, there have been problems recently with people parking illegally in alleyways. This blocks delivery trucks and other business at offices and businesses downtown. Anyone parked illegally in alleyways also will be cited.
