North Shreveport car thief arrested

Shreveport Police Department has arrested a 44-year-old Shreveport man on five counts of illegal possession of stolen things after five stolen cars were located in various places in North Shreveport.

Albert Fuggins was booked into the Shreveport City Jail early this afternoon after the vehicles were found parked in front of his residence in the 2700 block of Kelsey. The vehicles has been reported stolen from the 1500 and 3100 blocks of North Market, the 5700 block of Eddy Place, the 900 block of Deer Park and the 3700 block of Bobbitt.

Alert Cpl. Mary Coburn and Detective Brandon Ortiz noticed that auto theft in District 1 had seen a spike in the past month and went to work trying to solve the crimes. Fuggins, who has been been arrested for similar crimes before, was located at the residence where the stolen cars were found.
