Woman arrested for cutting boyfriend

Shreveport police arrested a 32-year-old Shreveport woman on a charge of aggravated second-degree battery after she allegedly cut her boyfriend's throat with a box cutter. Mona Johnson was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the felony charge.

The incident happened about 10:20 p.m. last night in the 3600 block of Faye Street. The victim ran from the scene to a convenience store at Jewella and Hollywood, where police were called. Clyde McConnell, 41, of Shreveport was taken to LSU Hospital with a severe laceration that is believed to be non life-threatening. Johnson was located several hours later at the corner of Mayfield and Singletary and arrested for the crime.

The crime scene was located, and the weapon was recovered.
