Officer resigns

Shreveport Police Officer Frank Lam, 26, of Shreveport resigned from the department on Wednesday and was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center early today on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief.

Lam had with been SPD since September 2002. He was assigned to patrol.

The district attorney's office filed the charge again Lam for criminal mischief for allegedly providing false information on a police report concerning a personal matter. His case will be tried in Caddo District Court instead of City Court because he was a municipal employee.
