Jim Taliaferro FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Shred-it, Office Depot and Shreveport/Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers to hold Community ShredTM Event in Shreveport Document Shredding Helps Americans Fight Identity Theft Shred-it, Office Depot and Crime Stoppers are joining forces to help Americans combat identity theft by hosting Community Shred events across the country. Community members are invited to attend the event, part of the 2007 USA National Community Shred campaign taking place at Office Depot locations across the United States. WHEN: Saturday, April 28, 2007 WHERE: Shred-it and Crime Stoppers will be on site at the Office Depot located at 1708 E. 70th Street at Youree Drive. From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. WHAT: Community members are invited to bring all the unwanted personal documents they can carry for shredding by Shred-it mobile trucks. All voluntary donations collected will benefit the local Shreveport/Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers program and their communities. Crime Stoppers may be present to offer practical information regarding the prevention of identity theft. WHY: Identity theft is the fastest growing form of consumer fraud in North America. During tax season it is particularly important to take preventative measures. Community members can protect themselves by regularly destroying confidential and personal documents rather than disposing of them in non-secure places such as garbage bins.
