Domestic dispute turns deadly

A domestic dispute between an estranged husband and wife turned into a homicide Wednesday night after the husband reportedly got a gun from his truck and shot his wife in the head.

Allison Pope, 37, of Shreveport died later at LSU Hospital.

The shooting occurred about 10:20 p.m. in the 8000 block of Jewella Avenue. After the woman was shot, her husband got into his vehicle and drove away from the scene.

The case is currently under investigation. The husband is not yet in custody.
