Man hit by car

Shreveport Police crash investigators are looking into a major accident between a car and a pedestrian.

Roy Thomas, 49, of Shreveport is currently in critical condition at LSU Hospital. He was struck by a white Chevy Astrovan in the 3100 block of North Market Street at about 9:30 last night.

The driver of the van, 38-year-old Sath Abbot of Bossier City, has not been charged.

According to witnesses, Thomas stepped out into heavy traffic and was struck by the van, which tried to avoid the collision but could not.

The case remains under investigation.
