Woman arrested for jewelry theft
Shreveport Police arrested a 33-year-old Bossier City woman on a charge of felony theft after she allegedly stole $75,000 worth of jewelry from a home in the 11000 block of Belle Rose in Shreveport.
The incident occurred about 8 a.m. on April 14 after Carissa Nye reportedly took the jewelry while she was helping paint the victim's home. Some of the jewelry had been pawned or sold on the street, including a bracelet valued at $19,500 that she sold to an acquintance for $100.
Nye was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody Wednesday night. All of the stolen jewelry has been recovered, thanks to the hard work of several Shreveport Police detectives, narcotics agents and police officers, as well as two Bossier City Police detectives.
