FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wreck at Crab Apple and Pitch Pine

A Keithville woman has been arrested in connection with a major accident at Crabapple and Pitch Pine that occurred about 8:20 p.m. last night (Tuesday, May 1).

Dina Stump, 42, is charged with DWI and vehicular negligent injuring after the 2007 Chevy Tahoe she was driving crossed the center line and struck a 1995 Mercury Mystique head on.

The driver of the Mystique, 64-year-old Nancy Gill of Shreveport, was taken to LSU Hospital where she is currently in critical condition.

According to reports, Stump's vehicle was westbound on Crabapple when it struck Gill's vehicle. Gill's Mystique got trapped on a guard rail of a bridge, so she had to be extricated from the vehicle. A third vehicle -- a 2002 Hyundai Elantra driven by 24-year-old Kyla Cooley of Shreveport -- was traveling behind the Mystique and couldn't avoid the collision. Stump, Cooley and a 16-year-old female in Cooley's car were all taken to Willis-Knighton South with minor injuries.

The investigation continues.
