Fit for Life kick off today

City Leaders of both Shreveport and Bossier City will gather at the Louisiana Boardwalk at 4 p.m. today to proclaim Saturday, May 12, as Fit for Life Day.

The day involves numerous fun and physical activities and is aimed at bringing awareness to the health benefits that come with being physically active.

A news conference and kickoff with demonstrations from local groups will begin at 4 p.m. at the fountain just outside the parking garage at the Boardwalk.

Athletes competing in the Southern Cup Body Building competition will begin weighing in at 6 p.m. at the same location.
