Update on North Market Shooting Shreveport Police arrested three people on charges of manslaughter this evening in connection with the shooting of two teen-agers outside a McDonalds on North Market Street early Sunday morning. The shooting was not centered around rival high school groups, as some witnesses have reported. However, a fight between the two groups was taking place when adults not connected to the school rivalry showed up, saw the fighting and began firing weapons.
Those arrested were 18-year-old Decobee Hill, 22-year-old Torrance Williams and 21-year-old Dejerre Walker (a female), all of Shreveport. None of them are students. The shooting, which occurred about 1 a.m. in the 1600 block, resulted in the death of 16-year-old Terrence Winn of Shreveport, who was shot in the head. Meanwhile, another 16-year-old youth was shot in the leg and survived his injury. Because the students who were hit were not necessary the intended targets, detectives opted for the manslaughter charges instead of murder charges.
