Man charged with attempted first degree murder

Chris Carter, 17, of Shreveport was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery for an incident that occurred in the 2500 block of Lillian Street.

The incident occurred about 1:30 a.m. this morning when Carter and another unknown male forced their way into the home and demanded money.

During the robbery attempt, Carter allegedly shot Dorothy (correct spelling) Austin, 23, of Shreveport. Austin was taken to LSU Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation continues. This incident is believed to be drug related.
