Second person arrested for stealing suburban

Shreveport police arrested a second person accused of stealing an SUV from a home in the 100 block of Pennsylvania.

Brian Turner, 19, of Shreveport was taken into custody in the 500 block of Millicent Way this afternoon on a charge of felony theft.

Turner and another person, 20-year-old Jesus Maldonado of Shreveport are accused of stealing a Chevy Suburban about 5:40 a.m. Sunday. Maldonado was arrested at the scene by a citizen who saw the auto theft in progress. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of felony theft and misrepresentation during booking for giving a false name to police.

The Suburban was recovered and will be returned to the owner.

It is not known how the suspects came into possession of keys that started the Suburban, although detectives are looking into a statement from one of the suspects that the Suburban key was located inside another vehicle at the residence.
